(KDKZ-TV) Authorities in Washington County are investigating a student’s death Monday morning.
According to Kingston K-14 Superintendent Alex McCaul, a student took their own life at the senior high school. Staff found the student unresponsive prior to school starting.
Students at the Junior High and Senior High Schools were released for the day at 9 a.m. Classes will resume on Tuesday.
McCaul says counselors have been assembled to help with support of students and staff. Farmington School District Superintendent Matt Ruble also informed the district that their Crisis Intervention Team is available if needed.
McCaul says that no other students or staff were injured. He also said their safety is the most important.
