PARK HILLS, MO (KDKZ-TV) Central School District Officials are on alert after a bomb threat was made at the middle school on Thursday morning.

Superintendent, Dr. Desi Mayberry says that this threat is not taken lightly.  He told us the threat was written in the school bathroom.

“Somebody had written in a female restroom, on the stall, that tomorrow (March 9, 2018), that they would blow up the middle school,” he said.

Dr. Mayberry says that every grade level was notified of the threat.

“The assistant principal brought everbody, one grade level at a time, down to the cafeteria to let them know what was written on the wall, and to let them know that if they have any information about that, to please come and let her know, of course they would be kept in confidence,” says Mayberry.

The district sent the following message to parents:

“Today, Central Middle School had a written threat about tomorrow on a bathroom wall.  Investigations/reviews are ongoing including involvement of local law officials.  No credibility has been found to this point.  If new information is found, you will be notified immediately.  School will be in session tomorrow.”

Dr. Mayberry says that they do have a lead that they are investigating.  He says that they will do everything they can to resolve this situation.  Additional staff and police will be on hand during the school day on Friday to ensure the safety of the students.

He also says that the longer it takes to resolve this situation, and the more disruption this causes, the person responsible will be facing the highest of punishment.
