ST. LOUIS, MO (KDKZ-TV) More community leaders are speaking out against Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner and her case against Missouri Governor Eric Greitens.
Embattled Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner is facing more criticism regarding her case against Governor Eric Greitens since admitting that she does not have that compromising photo of the victim she once claimed to have. 35-year veteran St. Louis Police officer and founder of “Back in Service” – a charity that helps injured police officers find new careers, Sgt. Gary Weigert.
“I’ll tell you what, I’ve never heard of a case being investigated without the police involved. Ever. I’ve never heard of that – ever. The police should be the ones who are investigating it. And my understanding was she said the police refused to do it. Well, who’s the name of the officer who turned her down? I’d like to know the name of the officer who didn’t investigate it,” says Weigert.
Weigert xplained how she’s able to pursue this case without the cooperation of the victim.
“I don’t even know how you have a crime if there isn’t a victim,” he said.
