FREDERICKTOWN, MO (KDKZ-TV) The Fredericktown Police Department is warning business owners and residents about counterfeit money being passed around the city.

Other areas in Madison County are experiencing the issue as well.

One trend in particular that has been seen and merchants need to be aware of is the words “FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY” displayed on the bill.

If you suspect phony money, you should contact police immediately.
