FARMINGTON, MO (KDKZ-TV) A portion of the old Mineral Area Regional Medical Center received damage early Tuesday morning after a second dumpster fire on the north side.
Farmington fire crews responded to a dumpster fire on the south side of the building at around 8:11 p.m. Monday. The fire was quickly extinguished. This dumpster was located by the “old” E.R. entrance. Damage only occurred to the dumpster.
Another call came in at around 4:37 a.m. on Tuesday for another dumpster fire on the north side of the building. This dumpster was under a canopy to the entrance of the outpatient surgery center.
The canopy and roof of the building received extensive damage, and a portion of the building received smoke damage.
The owner of the building was on hand Tuesday morning and says that they began to air out the building shortly after the fire was extinguished.
An investigation is ongoing through the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Farmington Police Department.
