FARMINGTON, MO (KDKZ-TV)Authorities are searching for a Farmington man after a pursuit earlier this month.
28-year-old Ethan Steele, is wanted on several felony warrants.
They say on July 7, police saw a blue Durango, which has been involved in other issues involving Steele, on Burks Road. The officer conducted a traffic stop for illegal window tinting. The driver, a 25-year-old female, also of Farmington, was asked if there was anyone else in the vehicle. At that time, the officer noticed a blanket covering a large object in the back. The officer then called for backup.
Backup arrived, and the driver was removed from the vehicle, and told police that Steele was in the back.
The officers then called for Steele to exit the vehicle. Steele jumped out of the vehicle, and entered the driver side and sped off. During this time, an officer tried to grab Steele, and a Taser was also used, but both were unsuccessful.
A pursuit ensued down Colony Church Road with speeds as high as 90 m.p.h. The pursuit was terminated after officers lost sight of the vehicle.
Steele currently has a revoked license, with three prior convictions of driving while revoked and also had three prior felony warrants through St. Francois County, two were for resisting arrest and one for felony assault.
The Farmington Police Department has submitted a report to the prosecuting attorney’s office requesting additional charges, including driving while revoked, resisting arrest and assault in the second degree on a law enforcement officer. Charges on the woman are pending as well.
Anyone with any information on Steele’s whereabouts is asked to call their local law enforcement agency or Central Dispatch at 573-431-3131.
