Small Plane Crashes Near Festus Airport, Two Killed

FESTUS, MO (KDKZ-TV) Authorities say a father and son were killed in a small plane crash Friday morning.

The plane was traveling from New York to Festus.

The pilot just bought the Cessna C150 in New York and crashed late Thursday night.  The plane was found before 8 a.m. Friday.

Jefferson County Sheriff Marshak says the pilot texted his fiance to stand at the  Festus Airport runway with a flashlight since the airport didn’t have lights on.

The pilot reported an electrical issue with the plane around midnight.
