Local Police Car Catches Fire While in Use

DESLOGE, MO (KDKZ-TV) A Desloge Police Officer was not injured when his vehicle burst into flames Wednesday night.

The incident happened on Northbound Highway 67 shortly before midnight.

The officer was out patrolling, went south on Highway 67 to Parkway Drive, and then turned around and headed north back towards Desloge.  At that time, his patrol car stopped working.

The officer then pulled over to the side of the highway.  When he opened the hood of the car, the front end burst into flames.

A cause of the fire is not known at this time.
