(KDKZ-TV)Authorities are investigating two recent fires in Marquand that are considered arson.

Two historic buildings burned within days of each other this past week.

Last Thursday morning, the Henry and Jane Bess-Sitze Log Homestead received major fire damage and on Saturday morning, the Old Buckhorn General Baptist Church was damaged from fire.

Reports say the fire marshal has determined the second fire had the same pattern as the first fire.

If you have any information about these two fires, you are urged to call the arson hotline at 800-39-arson or the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
