(Piedmont,MO) The 83rd Black River League Basketball Tournament is underway at Clearwater High School in Piedmont. The Action began Monday at 4pm with the JV Boys as Lesterville took on Bunker followed by South Iron and Clearwater at 5:15. South Iron was back in it again for the Varsity boys taking on the Bunker Eagles, edging the Eagles out in the first half 52-25, the Panthers came back during the second half of action to take the win over Bunker in the 4th 87-47.
The night cap game was the number 2 seed East Carter Redbirds taking on the 6 seed Ellington Whippets at 7:45p. Both teams showed equal playing fields in the first half of action with Ellington’s Brycen King making his 1000th point just before half time, the Redbirds were ahead by 20 at half at 37-17. When the second half of action resumed, the Redbirds maintained an almost 20 point lead during the entire second half beating out the Whippets 68-48 in the 4th quarter.
